Ep 11 - Creating an Equal Future With Tech She Can Co-CEO, Claire Thorne
In this episode of the Technically Confident podcast, I am joined by Dr Claire Thorne, co-CEO of Tech She Can, a skills charity working to increase the number of women in technology roles.
As well as co-leading Tech She Can, Claire holds a PhD in Astroparticle Physics, has led multi-million-pound acquisitions, was named in Computer Weekly's 'Top 50 Most Influential Women in Tech', and is developing the Venture Science Doctorate. As a woman in tech, a returner, a physicist and a mum, Claire is passionate about innovation, parity and equality in the workplace, and STEM education and research.
Together we'll discuss the tech skills gap and how to build a more equal and inclusive environment for women in tech. Claire will share her experience of returning to the workplace after maternity leave, balancing her career with motherhood, and what her charity is doing to change the ratio of women in the industry.
Achieving equality requires the participation of people at all levels, regardless of gender or age. Whether you're an employee or a business owner, Claire will share what you can do to get involved in creating equality for future generations of women in tech.
In this episode:
